Is waxing contraindicated for lichen simplex chronicus?

When we have a client with the following condition:
lichen simplex chronicus

Treatments cannot be performed over contraindicated areas.

Signs and symptoms for
lichen simplex chronicus

  • Itching of the skin that may be long-term (chronic), intense, and that increases with stress
  • Leathery texture to skin
  • Raw areas of skin
  • Scaling

Scratching makes it even itchier. This itch-scratch cycle causes the affected skin to become thick and leathery. You may develop several itchy spots, typically on the neck, wrist, forearm, thigh or ankle. Neurodermatitis — also known as lichen simplex chronicus — is not life-threatening or contagious.

It can occur on normal skin of individuals with atopic, seborrheic, contact dermatitis, or psoriasis.
